We pay tribute to Angela "Angel" Wainaina. Angel was one of three participants in last years serious request. She shall always have a place in our hearts. You too could follow her spirit at angeltrust.org

Day 4 highlights

Eating competition Time:1400hrs

Demolishing eggs10 boiled (mboiro) eggs and a 1 litre soda(coke) ! Thats what the competitors had to destroy in record breaking time to walk away with 1000 bob. Even the hunger striken presenters did not envy those guys. Check out the images in the day 3 gallery.We wont be shocked if we here of a biogas factory being created from the contents of the participants

 

Ogopa Camp in the studio Time:1300hrs

Avril, Kenzo Some members of the Ogopa camp - Trapee, Kenzo and Avril - have paid a visit to the Ghetto Radio glasshouse at the KICC. Linda shall have a brief interview with them after they have the three presenters have their "lunch"

Eating competition Time: 1:30pm

On day 1, contestants were quite lucky as all they had to do to win themselves 1,000 kshs was to devour a whole chicken and a one litre soda. Thats not so hard, given the fact that most of the chickens in fast food restaurants are normally underage and undersized. Day 2is a different story. The contenstants, Stevo and Mzee Eli were given Mandondo(beans) and 8 chapatis each. What the two contestants should devour to walk away with the prize is what 6 grown men in Ghetto Radio would share.

Mosquito netThis year, Serious Request is about raising awareness on Malaria. Participants in this competition are asked a set of questions on Malaria and the one who get the most questions right would take home a mosquito net

Those guys on stage mean business, The iPod up for grabs has made all challengers push themselves to the limit. Its a pity it that we can only have one winner.

Ghetto SantaIt looks like the real Ghetto Santa could not make it this year, so we had to hire some guy to give away gifts to some of our most valuable listeners. Where is the real ghetto Santa ?

The Eating Competition Time:11:31am

The Eating CompetitionTimes are really hard! This can be reflected by the number of guys who have shown up for the eating competion. The menu , a full chicken.

Battle for the iPod Time:11:01am

Erico walked away with the 1GB ipod. The prize was presented by the Harambee Stars midfielder McDonald Mariga.
