Red Cross Appeal
The Kenya Red Cross has called on those affected to visit the nearest Red Cross offices and register so that they can get humanitarian assistance.
“We are working to address the challenges posed by flooding which has intensified due to the March-April-May (MAM). This includes ensuring prompt emergency responses, conducting search and rescue missions, distributing shelter kits, and distributing essential supplies. One of the most important traits of a volunteer at the Kenya Red Cross is being selfless and having no desire to gain anything from their actions,” Red Cross Communication said.
Med Department Advisory
Meanwhile Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall advisory for several parts of the country, including Nairobi, highlighting the risk of more intense flooding from the 25th to the 28th of April, 2024.

It warns of heavy rainfall of more than 40mm in 24 hours, expected to impact areas surrounding the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, Highlands West,East of the Rift Valley and Nairobi.
