Police in Rongai, Nakuru county are investigating the murder of a 28 year old woman who was found dead inside a lodging in Salgaa on Friday morning.
The woman is reported to have checked herself into the lodging on Thursday night in the company of a male companion.
While it is not clear what transpired during their overnight stay at the lodging, the woman’s male companion was nowhere to be found.
The body of the woman was found with visible physical wounds inflicted on her forehead.
Molo Ward MCA Rachel Maru who rushed to the scene after the matter was reported, confirmed the incident and asked police to ensure the culprit is brought to book.
Salgaa Chief, David Waweru, told journalists that the lady appeared to have been attacked with a glass bottle.
“She had bruises on the forehead. It appears her attacker smashed a glass bottle against her forehead. The bedding that she had been wrapped in, was soaked in blood,” said Chief Waweru.
The body of the diseased was moved to Nakuru county mortuary.
