Barclays Kenya Open Hole-in-One Winner awarded

CMC Motors has awarded a New Ford Ranger Wildtrak worth Kshs. 6.795 million to the winner of the Hole-in-One Challenge at the Barclays Kenya Open golf tournament. This year’s edition of the tournament took place at the Muthaiga Golf club.

Finland based golfer, Oliver Linden has clinched the Hole-in-One challenge for the first time in 50 years.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mark Johnson, Group Finance Officer, CMC Motors said “We are thrilled to have sponsored the Barclays Kenya Open and to see that the Hole-in-One Challenge has finally been clinched. We are even more pleased to reward Oliver Linden with the well-equipped Ford Ranger Wildtrak, which is one of our flagship models.”

Mr. Linden will receive the New Ford Ranger, which is currently Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Kenya and the whole of sub-Saharan Africa. The Ranger – one of the toughest, smartest and most capable pick-ups in the market – is packed with features aimed at providing customers with improved utility, comfort and convenience.

CMC Motors’ sponsorship deal for the Barclays Kenya Open also included Kshs 2 million to go towards administrative costs at the four day event.

Johnson highlighted that the support of the Barclays Kenya Open is aligned to the organization’s commitment to sports in the country.

“We see a natural fit for CMC Motors and our brands such as Ford to sponsor the Barclays Kenya Open especially since golf is a great avenue for us to connect our customers to their passions. We plan to continue supporting other sports in the country.”

In 2016, Ford announced a partnership with the National Basketball Association to launch a Junior NBA League in Kenya and in other countries in Africa.
