A tragic incident has unfolded in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Embakasi, where a 37-year-old man named Wycliffe Barongo Nyabuto has been detained for allegedly killing his 16-year-old stepdaughter by stabbing her to death.

The horrifying event reportedly took place on Sunday, with disturbing accusations that Nyabuto had been repeatedly raping the minor before the fatal attack.

A neighbor recounted the harrowing experience, stating, “I was preparing to go to work when I heard a commotion, and it was the voice of the deceased.

When I went outside, I met the landlord, who was also concerned about the noise.” She further explained, “When we opened the door, we found the girl on the floor, bleeding, and the father pinning her down, stabbing her with a knife. When I asked him in Kisii why he was stabbing the girl, he just stared back.”

The neighbor continued, “The girl came to me running, crying that she had been stabbed. She was taken to a dispensary, given first aid, and then moved to the hospital.”

The girl’s mother Regina Nkatha ,who works as a casual laborer, was at work when the incident occurred. She rushed back to take care of the situation upon hearing the news. She mentioned that her husband had been under significant stress after losing his job as a car wash operator and being discharged without pay.

This incident has left the community in shock and sorrow, as investigations continue to uncover more details about this tragic event.

Barongo was rescued by police from an angry mob baying for his blood and is currently detained at Embakasi police station, where he faces murder charges.

The victim’s body is at Mama Lucy Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
