4 Women Injured After Rowdy UDA Youth Storm ODM Meeting In Kayole, Smash Cars
A group of rowdy Youths today interrupted an ODM meeting at the Kayole Social Hall and injured four women.
The interrupted meeting was a women meeting convened by ODM Nairobi County Chairman George Aladwa.
The agitated youths who are alleged to be supporters of political aspirant Kennedy Olang’o in Kayole South and Sam Stepper of UDA pelted stones smashing cars and interrupting sessions.
One of the injured women was a woman who had a child.
Some people were allegedly injured by the shattered glasses of windows which were broken by the rowdy youths.
“The meeting was supposed to sensitize women on the voter registration exercise set to be conducted by the IEBC,” said one woman.
“Before the meeting started one aspirant came with men in black who stormed the meeting and started pelting stones on vehicles and windows of the social hall,” further said the woman.
Boaz Ochieng a youth leader from Kayole South ward accused Olang’o of storming the meeting and beating up women.
“Olang’o insisted to eneter the meeting with his goons and that is when drama started. His goons started pelting stones in the room and carried on the violence outside where they smashed several cars with stones,” he said.
Efforts of ODM Vice Chairman Nairobi county Ochieng Jera to calm them were futile.
