Boda boda riders in Nairobi City Centre today staged protests in the CBD demanding that the county releases all motorbikes confiscated two weeks ago.
The hundreds of protesters flocked city hall building demanding the release of more than 400 motorbikes that are apparently attracting heavy fines.
Each motorbike is apparently attracting a fine of 1000 shillings per day.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio News United Boda Boda Association chairman Kennedy Onyango accused the county government of harassing and over-fining boda boda operators .
They have also vowed to continue operating in CBD saying they are paying revenue to the county government and they have a right to operate.
Their efforts to speak to governor Sonko were futile, only Sonko’s aides showed up to handle them.
