Six hundred and fifty more Kenyans have tested positive for coronavirus, the Ministry of Health has announced.
Ministry of Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi says that the new infections were drawn from a sample size of 6,768 people that were tested in the past 24 hours.
The total number of Kenyans who have so far tested positive for the virus is 28,754.
From the new cases, 17 were foreigners while 633 were Kenyans.
Four more people died of the virus, raising fatalities in the country to 460.
A total of 308 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 182 were discharged from various health facilities.
“A total of 33 public and private laboratories in 12 counties are currently conducting tests for Covid-19. Cumulatively 896,612 individuals have been screened across all points of entry from January 21 to August 7,” she said.
