Betting firm Jambobet has launched a football tournament in Dagorretti Constituency to be staged on the 15th of November 2020.

The tournament which will be played in knockout basis has seen 60 teams from both Dagoretti North and South Constituency register for the games that the company says will help grow the sports in the grassroots.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio Sports Jambobet marketing manager Victoria Juma said that the Dagoretti tournament is a pilot project which they aim to roll out across the country in conjunction with Football Kenya Federation if all goes well.

“This is just a pilot project that we intend to see how it pans out and our aim is to have it in every constituency in the Country so as to nurture football from the grassroots and help transform the lives of the youth who depend on the game,” she said.

“With this tournament we intend to support grassroots football which has received little support,” she reiterated.

Juma said that apart from the football tournament, they will carry out Social Corporate Responsibility programme by organizing a feeding program in the Dagoretti Community whom she said has been affected by the effects of Covid 19.

Jambobet also intends to do a cleanup programme in every ward so that the whole community benefits from the events.

Jambobet will also organize a counseling programme whose aim is to support responsible betting among the youth and also fight drug abuse.

Fans have also not been left out of the fan fare and the company in conjunction with BCLB will organize a competition whereby the winner will win a motor cycle.

“Fans being a big part of the game will not walk out empty handed as we have organized a competition together with BCLB will walk away with a motor cycle,” she added.

The winners will walk away with Ksh 150,000 while the runners up Ksh 100,000.
