The accused person Thomas Scheller was charged in the year 2020 at the end of the trial, the court found that the prosecution had proved its case, and the accused was consequently convicted.
During the hearing,the court observed the accused who posed as a missionary of ‘spreading the good news of Jesus Christ’ turned out to be a molester of children and needs to be kept away from the peace loving society for its own good.
He was arrested after being trailed by police officers attached to the child and women protection unit from Kilifi, Kisumu and Nairobi Counties.
The trial magistrate Caroline Njangi said that from the pre-sentencing report, the victim prayed for a deterrent sentence against the accused.

The court found the accused guilty in all six counts.
In count one, he was sentenced for 30 years for an of child trafficking. In counts two and three, he was sentenced for 15 years each.
In count 4,5, and 6 on a charge of child pornography he was slapped with seven years, each making it a total of 21years.
The court further directed that the convict’s be entered into the convicted sexual offenders’ register.
The offence happened in Nairobi and Mombasa between 2019 and 2020.
Thomas Scheller, now 74, will exit the Kenyan prison remand at the advanced age of 155,
