8 more people die of Covid-19 as cases rise to 30,365

Eight more people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya raising the number of deaths to 482.

Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman says that five of those who died had underlying health issues.

Speaking during the Covid-19 daily briefings, Aman stated that 245 more people have tested positive to the virus, bringing the total number of cases confirmed in the country to 30,365.

“Over 29,000 cases in Kenya are communally spread which is equivalent to 98 percent of all cases. We need to be extra careful in adherence to measures, all Counties have COVID-19 cases now,” he said.

The new cases were recorded from a sample of 3,150, tested across the country.

Aman also urged healthcare workers to continue leading Kenyans in the fight against Covid-19 by staying true to their oaths.

“As professionals and healthcare workers we have an obligation to serve. When you take the Hippocratic oath you ought to serve. Let’s not throw our hands and allow Kenyans to suffer in the midst of the pandemic,” he said.
