Polio vaccination in Nairobi city county will kick-off tomorrow with the health ministry targeting over 800 thousands children at the end of the exercise.
The vaccine program has been initiated after a Polio virus was discovered in a sewage in Easdtleigh estate puting the city at risk of its contraction.
Director Medical Services Dr.Jackson Kioko asked city residents to give the officers ana ample time to carry out the execise that will start tomorrow until 13th May and to report any suspicion immediately at a nearby health centre.
Meanwhile Lilian Mutua health promotion officer Nairobi city county urged parents and gaurdians with children below 5 years to ensure they are vaccinated .
According to Mutua the vaccine will be given door to door as well as at public health facilities.
