Dandora Girl Appeals For Help To Get Into Secondary School

A KCPE candidate from Nairobi’s Dandora area risks losing her chance at a secondary school over lack of school fee.

Beatrice Waigumo says that her daughter Immaculate Waigumo who scored 336 from Wangu Primary School in Dandora has been called to Noonkopir Girls’ Secondary School in Kajiado County.

Waigumo who is a hawker says that she needs approximately Ksh. 58,000 to take her daughter to school.

“The girl scored 336 and has been called to a school in Kitengela. I am overburdened, I do not have the funds to take her to form one. I am a hawker, this job’s returns are very low we only get enough to eat. I am only appealing for help. I will appreciate even the little help people will give because the father has also fled from home because of shame,” said Waigumo

She says that the little savings she had made as a hawker have all gone to the treatment of her son who had been attacked by thugs in Dandora.

“I had saved some money but unfortunately the brother got accident, he was attacked by thugs in Dandora, so I used all the money to treat him at the Mama Lucy Hospital,” said Waigumo.
