Activist Claims Her Life Is In Danger After Posting Victims Of Kariobangi Demolitions On Social Media
Ruth Mumbi a Nairobi based activist now claims her life is in danger after receiving numerous threats from an alleged police officer who has warned her against posting videos and pictures of Kariobangi North demolition victims.
According to Mumbi she received a text message from someone who claimed to be a police officer in charge of the demolition warning her against addressing the horrible plights of families evicted in the area.
She has since reported the matter to Kariobangi Police Station under OB number 46/12/2020 and to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
‘‘On Thursday date 5th May I received a message from a guy who identified himself as an officer from Kariobangi clearly stating that if I don’t stop posting videos of demolition victims, he will deal with me and ensure am not seen again.’’ Mumbi told Ghetto Radio News.
Meanwhile our efforts to reach Kariobangi Police are still futile .
Mumbi is an activist specializing in voicing the rights of women and children and she says her main aim for posting the videos was to request well wishers to help families who were evicted and were sleeping in the cold.
