Nyasuguta is not the first artiste to try politics. The likes of Proffesa Jay, Frasha, Kaytrixx have been there,done that before. However,seems when pages turn to the subject reading a woman, the tale becomes something else- a sad story.
Known for her ‘naive wife’ to Mogaka role on ‘Vitimbi’, the Veteran actress must have had it rough say since the demise of Mzee Ojwang’.
Before she was attacked and beaten ruthlessly by four goons on Friday 3th February 2017, Nyasuguta- borne Eunice Wambui had raised brows with her sudden physical appearance change.
Before announcing her bid to run for Embakasi South parliamentary seat, Nyasuguta had also been accused of conning young ladies money with alleged fake promises of securing them jobs in the middle east.
Prior to the attack that took place when coming from Mukuru Kwa Rueben on the said date, Nyasu also told Word Is how her car was vandalised 3 days before.
“Three men attacked me as one of them kept watch. They punched my face and hit me with a wooden rod on my neck and back. I kept telling them, take the money I had but they did not steal anything from me. One of them even told me, ‘Hatuna njaa ya pesa.’ They later told me that ‘Embakasi iko na wenyewe’,” Nyasuguta said.
She has since suffered injuries on her neck, ribs and have reported experiencing mild breathing problems after the fateful politically connected assault.
Despite having been in and out of hospital thrice to ascertain no internal bleeding,Nyasu will not bail out;
“At first I was so scared and I even wanted to call it quits, but my supporters in Embakasi have told me to continue soldiering on. They have my back. The sabotage has gotten so bad to the point where I find my car had been vandalised when I would go to check on the various projects I’m working on at the constituencies. Nowadays I just use a taxi,” She added.
“I ask for peaceful campaigns during this period of elections and also seek for protection from our party, we women of this area are suffering,” she concluded.
Jubilee has since condemned the attack;
