Njiru residents are now demanding an explanation from Nairobi City governor Mike Sonko why it has taken more than one month before seeing water in their taps.
The residents say a 20 litre container retails for 40- 50 shillings and is only available in a few taps that cant’ serve the whole Njiru area.
They have asked Sonko to come to their rescue and fix the crisis as their attempt to reach the ward administrator and Nairobi city water and sewerage company still futile.
After visiting Ndakaini dam which is a major source of Nairobi last month Sonko promised four days supply of water in affected areas in Eastlands something that is yet to realized.
But he has sounded a warning to cartels in the water supply chain that soon the long arm of the government will catch up with them.
