Award winning RnB singer Adele’s album ’Adele 30’ is  the biggest selling album of 2021 with more than 600,000 copies after six weeks.

In her post, she talked of the challenges she faced before releasing the album.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually, I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly-willing even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil,” she said.

Adele is hopeful and optimistic that she will keep her star shinning since she now has the capability.

“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life,” she said.

The hardworking sassy singer announced that she will have an exclusive residency in the Colosseum of Las Vegas famed Caesars Palace hotel beginning Friday January 21, 2022 termed ‘WEEKEND WITH ADELE’.

The star sold more than 600,000 copies of her ”Divorced Album” with 80% of those sales on CD and vinyl, bucking the trend towards streaming. Her previous album, 25 had 800,000 copies sold in its first week.

However, a record of 147 billion tracks were streamed in the UK last year for 5.7% from 2020. Just 10 years ago, in 2012, only 3.7 billion songs were streamed over the entire year.

Also, Ed Sheeran had 2021’s biggest selling single, Bad Habits. US pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo had the second and the third-biggest songs, with Good 4 U and Driver’s License.

Although there is disquiet among artists about how the profits are divided up, the delight and growth is seen in streaming and record labels.
