AFC Leopards commenced their 60 year’s celebrations with a heartwarming gesture by visiting various Children’s homes in Nairobi.

The team celebrated its birthday in a distinctive manner, paying a visit to their founder Father Mutoka in Shauri Moyo Estate, Nairobi, along with the main team, the Ingwe ladies team, and the junior team, engaging in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Led by Ingwe at 60 chairman Vincent Shimoli, the first group visited Wamo Childcare alongside the main team.

In Kitusuru, club Patron Alexander Muteshi guided the Ingwe team in a visit to the Shangilia Mtoto wa Africa Children’s home, where they shared the joyous occasion with the children.

The junior team, on the other hand, visited Nile Road Special school, engaging in a charity match with the pupils before joining the celebration in Shauri Moyo, including a memorable cake-cutting ceremony.

Club Patron Muteshi expressed delight in celebrating the special day at Shauri Moyo, emphasizing its significance as the birthplace of AFC Leopards.

He highlighted the club’s rich history and expressed optimism for its future.

Throughout the month, AFC Leopards has planned various activities, including visits to different children’s homes and brief ceremonies involving cake-cutting. The main event is scheduled for March 24th at Nyayo Stadium.

Ingwe at 60 chairman, and former player, Vincent Shimoli, hinted at a new direction for the club post-celebration, emphasizing the importance of self-sustainability and aspiring to emulate successful clubs like Simba and Yanga.

He stressed the need for the younger generation to take the lead and steer the club to greater heights.

Club legend Josphat Murila commended AFC Leopards’ leadership for organizing the special event, which brought together past, present, and future members of the club, fostering a sense of unity and continuity. The celebration not only honored the club’s legacy but also highlighted its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.
