For the second time the AFC Leopards players had to take to their heels after they were allegedly caught contravening the Covid -19 protocols.

The players were allegedly accosted by police officers during their training at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Jericho.

The police officers were led by OCS Jogoo Police Station Eliud Byama at around 9 am.

A player who spoke to Ghetto Radio Sports anonymously says that the players’ officials and the Grounds attendant had to run to avoid being arrested.

Last month they were arrested for contravening the Coivd-19 Protocols which were put in place in March by the Country’s President.

President Uhuru Kenyatta suspended all sporting activities in the country indefinitely due to rising positive tests as a result of the coronavirus’ third wave.

The players scaled over the fence of the training ground to escape arrest after about half a dozen officers arrived aboard a truck.

Ghetto Radio Sports team reported that the officials were taken to Buruburu Police station to be arraigned in Court the next the day.

Despite the government’s assertion that they have allowed Sports resumptions, the Sports Ministry is yet to come up with conditions to be applied for the resumption as was announced at the Labor Day celebrations On the May 1st of 2021.

President Uhuru lifted the suspension saying that the decision was arrived at after COVID-19 infections reduced significantly.

If the tentative date of 12th of this month is maintained and the delay of announcing the modalities teams find themselves in a tight spot.
