Suspected Al-Shabaab militia Saturday morning raided a Kenya Police Station in Wajir and made away with unknown guns and ammunition.
The attack on Diff Police Station in Wajir South took place at around 1:00am after the insurgents overpowered officers manning the station.
Confirming the incident, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said there was an attack at 1:00am but the officers managed to put up stiff resistance and fought them off, despite Al-Shabaab having come numbering over 100 in three trucks and heavy mortar fire.

The Millitants however, escaped having looted local shops an officer’s tent.
Meanwhile a different source claimed that the militia ran away with about 13 guns and an unknown number of bullets.
