A section of Maseno residents and students have raised an alarm over Covid-19 situation within Maseno University.

Reports indicate that a number of students who have tested positive for the disease have refused to go for quarantine endangering the lives of other students.

Martin oyindo, a student at the school told Ghetto Radio News that most students are also not observing the basic protocols like keeping a social distance and washing hands.

Oyindo says that the institution has also done very little to ensure that the students as well as the staff members are safe.

“We had a consultative meeting with the university administration and it come out clearly that majority of students test positive to covid-19, and they neither quarantine or follow the ministry of health guidelines,” says Oyindo.

Edgar Akula another student at the university is appealing to the Kisumu County Government and National Government to at least giving priority to the university when issuing vaccines.

“To save the lives of university students, the government should at least vaccination,” said Akula
