Amos Mwago Supporters Storm Tallying Center, Accuse Opponent Of Trying To Rig

Supporters of Jubilee Candidate for Starehe Constituency Amos Mwago Maina yesterday stormed the constituency’s tallying center at Jamhuri High School demanding that their candidate be declared the winner.

They claimed that their opponent for delaying the declaration in his efforts to rig the election.

Drama started when the supporters allegedly caught a presiding officer with ballot box whose polling station could not be established.

“We know we are dealing with a very shoddy politician who is used to playing dirty games in order to win. He played us at UDA when we were supporting Jaguar and now he wants to play Amos Mwago, we will not accept this,” said a supporter.

“We know that he has tried to sneak in a starange ballot box with stuffed ballot papers in a bid to rig himself in. We have tallied the results and we know that Amos Mwago has won, why is he dilly dallying?” he posed.

The standoff lasted a few minutes and it took efforts of police officers to calm him them down.

Provisional results indicate that Mwago was leading in the Starehe Constituency race closely followed by UDA’s Simon Mbugua.
