Master Andy Michael Muchiri of Damacrest Schools in Thogoto has emerged the top student in the just released KCPE 2019 results scoring 440 marks.
Munyiri was followed closely by three candidates who tied and scored 339 marks.
They include Flavian Onyango, June Cheptoo and Michael Ndung’u.
According education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha the number of candidates scoring 400 marks and above dropped to 9,770 from 11,559 which is 1.1% drop compared to last year.
‘’There were no irregularities cited and we want to ask our candidates to accept the results ..collection will be done at sub county education offices then candidates will get them officially at their respective examination centres,”said Magoha.
Magoha also announced an overall improvement in the examination as compared to 2018.
‘’There was a general improvement of candidates compared to last year though there were also a slight drop in Mathematics and Science subjects this year,’’Magoha said.
