This week was a week of albums and new rides in the entertainment scene. So who made headlines? Let’s get into it….
- Otile Brown
On Tuesday singer Jacob Obunga popularly known as Otile Brown unleashed his latest ride a brand new BMW 7 series.
The singer revealed that he recently acquired the brand new BMW, as a gift for his debut Album ‘Just in Love’. The album 10 track album dropped on Wednesday 5th June.

The 10-song album is his first major project, following his entry into music industry in 2015. In that period, he has established himself as one of Kenya’s most exciting musical prospects, as well as a leading voice in the region. “Just In Love” is set to further enhance this, with collaborations in the album featuring East African giants: Mejja, Khaligraph Jones, Tanzania’s Juma Jux, Meddy from Rwanda and Burundian singer Kidum.
This must have been a good week for Otile Brwon. A few days ago American media Billboard named him the most watched artist beating the likes of Sauti Sol, Willy Paul and Khaligraph Jones.
- Betty Kyallo
Last weekend media Personality Betty Mutei Kyallo bid K24 goodbye after a two year stint.
In a statement issued after her last briefing on Saturday night, Kyallo appreciated her fans for holding her down and asked them to keep in touch with her on social media.
“I really appreciated you all. It’s now time for me to say Goodbye here on K24 TV, if we meet again great, if not you know how you can find me on all my social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, Betty Kyallo lately it’s going to be popping and we are going to be doing great things there. Thank you so much for all your support I appreciate You God bless you and I love you. Good Night.” She said
Just days after leaving K24, Kyallo went on to unleash the latest ride under her name.
In a post shared on Instagram, Betty revealed that she is now a proud owner of a 2019 Porsche Cayenne.
The car goes for $66,750 (Ksh 7,128,233 million] including the $1,050 destination charge.
“Gotta move differently if you want different! Another One is home! This time White❤️” she wrote
Recently Kyalo left her critics believing she is broke after announcing that she is relocating her salon Flair by Betty from FCB Mihrab in Kilimani to a different location.
As it turns out, Kyalo recently acquired a mansion around the same area that she has decided to convert to her beauty parlor as well as her office.
- Ethic Crew vs. Octopizzo
On Tuesday gengetone group Ethic crew took to twitter to call out rapper Octopizzo for refusing to be part of their upcoming album.
The said album dubbed ‘BIG MAN BADO ODINARE’ is set to drop mid this month and critics anticipate they are using the controversy to promote the album.
According to Ethic, apparently they approached Octo to be part of the album but he refused.
“We gave @OCTOPIZZO the privilege to be on our super dope album but hakuona vision, truth ni numbers ziko but ange kuja tu na zile mathogothanio zake, video for the song wasnt part of the plan…all in all watch out June 13th album droppin, ‘BIG MAN BADO ODINARE’ Ni mbwaya ni moto” reads a Tweet from Ethic.
A few days ago Octo also called out Ethic after they wrote a post saying Khaligraph is better than him.
“Ahaaa…Ni ju nilikataa kurukia project ama? But si ni life….#Wakiritho TA! TA!” reacted Octopizzo.
- Sauti Sol Album
Multi -Award winning boy band Sauti Sol finally dropped their much anticipated fifth studio album dubbed MIDNIGHT TRAIN.
The album which dropped on Friday on Universal Music Africa is a 13 track album which takes fans through the journey of life, embracing the trials and tribulations that come with it.
The band has worked with some renowned names in the international music scene like Sho Madjozi, India Arie and Andre Harris.
The title track “Midnight Train” was produced by Andre Harris who is credited for some epic tracks under Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Jill Scott. The track is a representation of their never -say-die attitude. The song is about their hustle and the effort they have put into their career, burning the midnight oil.
“We’ve had an amazing journey so far and it’s like an ever moving train. Each time we make it to a destination we realize the road doesn’t stop there. We continue to better ourselves and look forward to bringing our fans along with us as we grow.” Says band member Chimano.
