The movie Christmas Love is trending top 10 on Netflix and is #3 most watched.
It features big names such as Abel Mutua,Grace Ekirapa, Robert Burale, Comedian Mulamwah and Neema Kawa as Abel’s daughter.
Abel Mutua known by many as Bwana Mkurugenzi is the main actor of this short film and he reveals that it only took them three days to shoot it stating that the idea of Christmas love was born way back in early 2021.
“So niliitwa nikapige shughuli moja hapo kwa Crime and Justive ( Showmax film). One of the actors nilikuwa na act na yeye anaitwa Peter Kawa, ni actor mnoma sana akasema ako na concept kali ya Christmas movie alikuwa hadi ashaandika script sasa tu alikuwa anatafuta the perfect person wa kupiga role ya main character.” Says Abel.

Peter Kawa, Kenyan award winning actor, director and producer spotted Abel from Crime and Justice and immediately knew he would make the perfect main character for Christmas love.
After choosing Abel as the main character Kawa executed his plan of shooting the movie the same year and uploading it on both his and Abel’s website.
“Hii movie tulishoot 2021 ikiisha. Peter alinipigia akanishow anafeel hio ndio time poa ya kushoot. Nikamwambia haina mambo tupige kitu.” Reveals Abel.
How Christmas love landed on Netflix
After uploading the film on their websites, they felt like it was not getting much appreciation but they still pushed it and it was just recently when Abel received a call from Kawa informing him that they had made it to Netflix.
“ Kawa called me saying it’s almost one year since tufanye hii kitu, Netflix wameiwahi.”
Christmas love is about how a father juggles between work and being a perfect single dad.
The short movie is a big move by the Kenyan actors and deserves credit. You should watch it to get the thrill.
