Kenyans angered by ministry’s decision to track down HELB defaulters

Kenyans have been angered by the ministry of education’s plan to track down defaulters of the HELB loan

Speaking to Ghetto Radio, a section of Kenyans termed the government’s move as wrong arguing that most of the young people who completed school are jobless hence they cannot be able to payback the loans given to them

They have further urged the government to guarantee the students job opportunities to ensure that the loans are paid fully once they are employed.

Education cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed yesterday said the government is working with law enforcement officers to track down HELB beneficiaries who have secured employment but have defaulted the loans which has amounted to 7.2 billion.
