President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the dusk to dawn curfew put in place to to curb the spread of coronavirus by 60 days.
Uhuru has however reviewed the curfew time from the current 9pm to 4am to 11pm to 4am.
“The commencement time for the nationwide curfew is varied from 9 pm to 11 pm therefore effective tomorrow Tuesday September 29th 2020 the nationwide dusk to dawn curfew will run from 11 O’Clock at night 4 in the morning,” said Uhuru.
Speaking during the Covid-19 Conference at KICC, Uhuru also lifted a ban prohibiting bars from operation effective tomorrow.
“That the prohibition against the operation of bars and the prohibition of against the operation of bars and the prohibition against the sale of alcohol by ordinary restaurants shall stand vacated with effect from the 29th of Spetember 2020. Mnaweza kukunywa pombe, sawa,” said Uhuru.
He has also allowed ordinary restaurants to sell alcohol setting the closing time to 10 PM.
Churches will also be required to host at least one third of its capacity while the number of persons attending weddings has been reviewed from 100 to 200 people.
The conference was also attended by cabinets secretaries, Chief Justice David Maraga, ODM leader Raila Odinga, senators, MPS and church leaders.
