More than 63 families have been left homeless after fire razed down their houses in Soweto Embakasi East Constituency.
The incident happened at around 2.am.
According to the residents they have lost valuables worth thousand of shillings.
“Tumechomekewa sana Nyamba kadhaa zimechomeka na vitu zetu.Moto ulianza saa nane usiku..tumejaribu sana na kuzima na maji wazima moto walifika two hours later hawajatusaidia bora wamekuja.” Jane Wachira told Ghetto Radio News.
“We are requesting the government to come to our rescue actually most of us do not have even a single clothe.The incident was in the middle of the night and it cought us unaware.” Fred another victim narrated.
They have however, blamed the county government fire fighters for arriving late when a lot of damaged has been caused.

Meanwhile Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino has called on the nation to pray for Embakasi East residents following back to back fires that have been seen in the area.
“Another sad day in Soweto ward, Embakasi East as 63 residents are left homeless after a fire burned down their houses and other valuables last night. Please pray for Embakasi East,”Babu said in his Twitter account.
