Another Suspect In Priest’s Murder Arrested, Murder Waepon Found In Pit Latrine


Police have arrested another suspect linked to the murder of Father Michael Maingi in Machakos county.

Fourty four year old Solomon Mutava was arrested at Gategi centre in Mwea, Embu County.

Police also recovered a sharp knife which is the suspected murder weapon from a pit latrine in Mwea.

Blood stained clothes belonging to the first murder suspect by the name Michael Mutunga were also recovered from two rooms which he had rented.

The items have been taken to the government chemist for forensic analysis.

Father Maingi was reported missing a few weeks ago only for his body to be found buried in a shallow grave in Mwingi.

His throat was slit and body slashed.

So far a total of two suspects have been arrested.
