Mathew Lempurkel’s supporters caused drama at Nanyuki law courts on Wednesday with a demand for his release.
The Laikipia North MP spent Tuesday night at Nanyuki police station following his arrest in Nairobi over incitement to violence.
County DCI boss Isaac Musyoki told journalists that the legislator was detained to help police with investigations after the Sunday killing of Sosian ranch co-director Tristan Voorspuy.
The MP is to be charged today but his supporters said they wanted him released unconditionally.
Lempurkel is facing another charge of offensive conduct and incitement to violence for allegedly threatening an officer at Rumuruti police station on July 16, 2016.
