In California, Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, made his debut, with Christopher Nkuku scoring in the first half. But Wrexham’s Luke Bolton and Jack Marriott gave the League One team the lead thanks to defensive errors. Late in the game, Chelsea was able to tie the score at 2-2.

With ten minutes remaining, Lesley Ugochukwu scored to seal the draw. With Tosin in the defense after signing from Fulham and Reece James as captain, Maresca fielded a formidable squad. Romeo Lavia provided stability in the midfield, while Tyrique George and Noni Madueke, two young players, joined Nkunku in the attack.

Chelsea aimed to strike the ideal line-up before the season began by putting together both youthful players and well-known Premier League players. In spite of the draw, Maresca gained insightful knowledge from the game.

Although Chelsea defeated Wrexham 5-0 in a friendly last season, the lower-division team displayed greater competitiveness in this encounter.
