Azimio La Umoja Kisumu Rally Moved To Friday Over Claims Of Planned Chaos

Kisumu Azimio La Umoja Mtaani Kisumu Chapter has been rescheduled from Thursday to Friday over claims of planned chaos.

Kisumu county ODM Executive Committee claims that they have received reports that some opponents of Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o are planning to disrupt the rally.

Professor Ayiecho Olweny, the accused politicians are allegedly going round the town dishing out money to youths to heckle their opponent during the rally.

“This is Raila’s function, and nobody else hence no need for one to cause chaos during such an important function,” said Olweny.

He has appealed to the city residents to remain peaceful before, during and after the event and the August polls.

“We want to urge the youths to shun calls by some politicians in Kisumu to cause chaos during political rallies. Political intolerance is uncalled for and our people need to remain peaceful during this electioneering period,” he said.

“We expect, urge, advise and appeal to Kisumu residents to be peaceful during that Azimio Rally in Kisumu,” he added.

Kisumu Central Constituency ODM Party Chairman and Market / Milimani Ward MCA Seth Ochieng has urged the residents of Kisumu County to turn up in large numbers.

The Azimio La Umoja Mtaani, Kisumu Chapter has been pushed from Thursday 10/3/2022 to Friday 11/03/2022.
