Seme Constituency Parliamentary seat hopeful Majimaji Julius Owino has strongly condemned Land grabbers who allegedly burnt down Toi market on Sunday morning.
Speaking at Toi Market in Kibera sub-county on Wednesday Majimaji stated it is an open secret that grabbers are targeting targeting the market that sits on a vast prime land.
“Baba I received a call at 2am that Toi market is on fire and today I have learned one thing, they set fire on Toi Market at 1:20am which is the same time tha Mutindwa market was set on fire.
“On the two similar occasions, fire fighters arrived 1hr late with empty tanks. We are going to protect the property of common mwsnanch,” he said.

Change security personnel
Sarangombe Member of Parliament Lawrence Otieno alias Lawi who also attended the meeting said that Toi Market is not in Makina ward as some people claim but it is in Woodley Ward.
“Government is targeting Toi Market and it is using some of us who claim that Toi Market is in Makina ward. I want to tell them in bold day light that Toi market is in Woodenly ward and no one should joke with it. We are going to change security personnel in this market since they are the ones being used,” he concluded.
Raila visited the traders today and promised to help them solve the market fires that have been happening.
Raila wants the Toi Market land to be gazetted to keep the grabbers at bay.
