Baba Ni Msee Wa Kanairo, Wale Wengine Ni Wa Kucome – Winnie Odinga

Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga has weighed in on the unending debate of Watu Wa Kanairo and Watu Wa Kucome, pitting her father and other political rivals.

In fluent sheng at the University of Nairobi, Winnie threw a jibe at her father’s political rivals describing him (Raila) as msee wa Kanairo.

“Baba nimeskia watu wakisema eti hauwezi bonga sheng, we’ve been tweeting in sheng na baba huwezi bonga sheng, but yeye ni msee wa Kanairo, ye ni msee wa Nairobi, wale wengine ni wa kucome,” Winnie said to the applause of the audience.

“Hakukuja hapa na gari ya matanga ama gari ya chief… Nairobi iko na wenyewe,” she further stated.

Though she didn’t mention names, it was a clear indication that she sees her father, Raila who has dominated the country’s political arena from the capital Nairobi as the rightful successor to Uhuru Kenyatta.

Winnie feels Raila fits the bill as he truly understands the people’s needs and challenges having been elected to represent a constituency (Langata) within the capital, fought for multi party democracy, steered slum upgrading programs , built major roads while as Minister For roads and public works.

He was also a key player in the promulgation of the new constitution amongst other achievements unlike his challengers who have held the same position miles away from the county’s Capital Nairobi and can’t match not only his work ethic but also political supremacy nationally.

Raila’s challengers have equally held big political positions albeit miles away from the country’s Capital Nairobi.
