In a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, newly promoted Murang’a SEAL marked their entry into the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League with a triumphant 1-0 victory over rivals Shabana FC.
The Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay witnessed an intense showdown as Murang’a SEAL’s striker, Batts Awita, secured a last-minute goal, breaking the hearts of hundreds of passionate Shabana FC supporters.
‘It was a tough match but this is football, you have to accept the results, we played well but lack was not on our side,”Shabana Coach Sammy Okoth said.
Shabana FC 17 Year Hiatus
Shabana FC, making a long-awaited return to the topflight league after a 17-year hiatus, had their hopes dashed by Murang’a SEAL’s determined performance.
The match was attended by distinguished guests, including Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga.
