Bandari Crashed out of the Continental Competition
Kenya’s representatives in the Caf Confederation Cup Bandari were tossed out of the tournament following a 1-1 draw with Congo’s St. Eloi Lupopo in the return leg tie staged at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
Despite holding the Congolese side to a 1 -1 in yesterday’s return leg match,Bandari lost 3-1 on goal aggregate as they had lost 2-0 in the first leg two weeks ago.
The coastal team becomes the second team to be eliminated after Gor Mahia were crashed out of the confederation competition after the league champions were eliminated on Saturday by CNaPs of Madagascar after falling 1-0 in the return leg clash. Gor had lost 2-1 during the first leg staged in Nairobi.
St. Eloi Lupopo took the lead after 21 minutes through Makambo Maolongi.
Bandari equalised 10 minutes from time from the spot after Dan Sserunkuma’s shot was handled in the box. Edwin Lavatsa stepped up to score the resultant penalty.
