Charles Njoroge  becomes the latest candidate to join the race.

The seat has already attracted interest from former FKF president Sam Nyamweya, Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed, former Harambee Stars midfielders Sammy Owino ‘Kempes’ and McDonald Mariga, Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla and former Nyanza NEC member Tom Alila.

Kenyan Football Lagging Behind

Appearing on Ghetto Radio’s weekend sports show Offside Charles listed a few things he hopes to amend if elected as the FKF president

He acknowledged that Kenyan football is  not well packaged hence the need to bring in the much needed professionalism saying  there is need to package our game in a way that will make it attractive to partners ensuring the players make a meaningful living from football.

Asked how he would rate Nick Mwendwa’s performance ,Charles Njoroge says He rates his performance at one percent

‘’Nick mwendwa ofisi yake haijakuwa na uwazi  na hajafanya kazi kuinua football ya Kenya hizo miaka ‘’lamented the FKF top seat aspirant

Charles who hails from Limuru says He has been actively involved in sports

‘’I have had numerous football tournaments with majority targeting U-19s and  ladies  football tournaments targeting Nairobi and Kajiado Counties

Further to that the FKF presidential hopeful says his main focus will be on leadership structures and grass-root football

“My focus will not only be on all tiers of club football but also on youth, grassroots and women football and to achieve all this we need a functional leadership structure’’

The FKF presidential hopeful  has been involved actively with various football clubs including Kangemi all stars,Red Carpet,WYSA,Westland Soccer and Utalii,

As per the FKF Electoral Code (2020), a candidate seeking the top seat will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh300,000 but that is just a small part of the requirements
