-Bayern Suspends Mane after Fight with Sane
-Mane Now Faces Imminent Exit
Bayern Munich have suspended Sadio Mane following his midweek altercation with Leroy Sane in the dressing room.
Former Liverpool star Mane, who joined Bayern last summer, was only used as a late substitute at the Etihad but was involved in an on-field row with Sane in the 83rd minute.
That row continued post-game in the dressing room, where Mane punched his teammate in the face. Mane has been fined by Bayern but has now been temporarily suspended by club chiefs also.
As reported by German outlet SPORT1, Sane discussed the incident with Bayern’s hierarchy. The Germany international is said to have asked them not to impose a harsh punishment on Mane to avoid the row dragging on for any longer than necessary.
It’s believed Bayern’s CEO Oliver Khan and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic want to see a reaction from Mane, who could be shown the door if he doesn’t have a strong end to the season. The Senegalese star has struggled to find his best form in Germany.
Manes’ Goals in Munich
Mane has scored 11 goals and provided five assists for Bayern since his transfer from Liverpool last summer, with a leg injury hampering his progress and forcing him to miss the World Cup in Qatar. Yet the forward does not have long to silence his critics.
Mane Faces Exit End Summer
According to reports, the 31-year-old is facing an early exit from Bayern at the end of the season. As the Bayern insider speculates, the club could make a statement. An insider Plettenberg even speculates about an early exit of the Senegalese at the record champion. In other words, Bayern could part with or kick out the offensive player at the end of the season.
