Gor Mahia striker Benson Omalla’s planned six-month loan to Algeria’s JS Saoura has hit a snag.

Sources in Algiers report that the transfer fell through because Gor’s clearance sanction arrived after the Algerian window closed.

The loan deal, which would have earned K’Ogalo 3.2 million shillings, was set to become permanent at season’s end. Omalla was to receive a monthly salary of 1.3 million shillings.

In a signed statement, K’Ogalo stated the Harambee Stars striker was to join the North African giants on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Late last year, reports emerged that Algerian club USM Alger were on the verge of signing the former Western Stima player but Gor Mahia later came out to deny the allegations claiming they had not received an offers for the striker.

Omalla is Gor Mahia’s top scorer in the top flight so far this campaign, having scored nine goals.

The team is chasing for a record 21st title, sitting at the summit of the 18-team table with 43 points.
