Betika, through its Betika Na Community initiative, has announced its sponsorship of Kenyan drivers Carl Tundo, Andrew Muiruri, Ishmael Azeli, and Jennifer Malik for the upcoming World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya 2024.

The event, scheduled from March 28th to March 31st in Naivasha, marks a significant return to its traditional timing over the Easter weekend.

Betika Na Community has allocated KES 20 million to support the Kenyan drivers, a substantial increase from the previous year’s sponsorship of KES 14 million.

Former Kenyan champion Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the significance of the sponsorship in enabling Kenyan drivers to compete on the international stage.

Budding driver Jennifer Malik, also known as Kui Qui, shared her excitement, stating that participating in the Safari Rally is a dream come true. As an all-female rally team, Malik hopes to inspire other young girls in Kenya to pursue their passion for motorsport.

Betika’s Managing Director, Mutua Mutava, emphasized the company’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering excellence across Kenya. He highlighted the Safari Rally’s challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions, underscoring the event as the ultimate test of endurance. Mutava expressed pride in supporting Carl Tundo, Andrew Muiruri, Ishmael Azeli, and Jennifer Malik as they navigate these challenges with determination and skill.

Mutava also acknowledged the support of the government, particularly the Ministry of Sports, in backing Betika’s initiatives to nurture youth talent and facilitate their participation in local and international competitions.

With the WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2024 just days away, anticipation is high within the motorsport community and among fans worldwide. Top contenders from powerhouse teams like Hyundai Shell Mobis, Toyota Gazoo Racing, and Ford M-Sport are set to compete for glory in this iconic event.
