Betting firm Betika under #Betika Na Community initiative has partnered with Embakassi Central NG-CDF office to upgrade the Calvary Community football pitch in Kayole.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place October 23, 2021 and was witnessed by representatives from Ministry of Sport and Culture, CDF officials, Kayole residents and sport teams.
The ground is used by 37 senior teams and 300 junior teams around Eastland for training.
Betika plans to spend over Ksh. 100M in similar projects across the country to improve their conditions so as to advance the training standards of grassroots sports.
Currently, grassroots teams faces the challenges of postponing matches or playing in waterlogged pitches during the rainy seasons.
In addition, most pitches are hazardous and are cause of injuries to players due to the rocky terrain and uneven conditions.
“We are all about changing the lives of Kenyans by giving solutions of providing long-term impactful initiatives to communities around us.” said Wellington Karanja head of Betika na community initiative.
