Betway Sponsored Coaches to offer training to new talents
Betway has sponsored two West Ham United first team coaches to the country to offer rigorous and comprehensive training for 16 top players, who qualified for the four day Betway elite football camp at the Nyayo stadium and Moi International sports Centre Kasarani.
The two coaches include Josh Ewans-who is a technical football coach and Adam Crossley who is the sports scientist and training analyst for the West Ham United first team.
The 16 football players (including 2 goalkeepers and 14 infield players) are drawn from Nyanza, Coast, and Nairobi and Central Kenya regions following a successful Betway talent search trials two weeks ago where 1600 players participated.
Speaking at a press conference at Nyayo Stadium, Josh Ewans said, “It will be very exciting to see the potential in these 16 top players. We interacted with them this morning and you could tell they are hungry to get to the top in the football space.”
“ But more importantly, they have shown the will and effort to realize their dream of becoming professional football players and that’s what we are here to offer through guidance”.
The two West Ham United coaches will be assisted by Mathare united coach Francis Kimanzi and Kenya’s renowned footballer and Betway Brand Ambassador Dennis Oliech.
The camp is designed to offer an all-inclusive training regime that sets the groundwork for players, not only in terms of their skill, but also by emphasizing all the essential ingredients necessary to develop an elite professional football player
Activities at the camp will include skills development, physical assessment, life skills workshops, game analysis, mentorship programs, match play, 7v7 and 11v11 and conclude with the final top player selection. The chosen top player will win the grand prize organized by Betway; a trip to the United Kingdom for a West Ham United experience.
From the start, the Betway Talent Search has been focused on developing the sport of football, identifying new talent and exposing an exciting generation of future football stars to the international standards of the sport.
