Kaveve Kazoze hitmakers Spider Clan have disclosed that they’re broke unlike the narrative being peddled that they made a killing out of the song when it went viral.

According to the group, they never earned a dime from the song’s digital earnings.

This was because the owner of the beat had credited it to his name.

However, the group has since learned the hard way and rectified the mistakes with the monies set to be channeled to their accounts.

“Mwenye beat ndio alikuwa anachukuwa hizo doo sasa wakati imefika 4 million views sasa apo ndio tumechanuka tukajua venye inaweza toka kwa monetization yake ikuje kwa yetu sasa” they stated.

The group further affirmed that the song gave them fame and not riches.

They further added that club owners normally pay peanuts with complains of a biting economy.

Empty Promises

The group’s only female star, Ngesh also revealed that some of the high profile personalities didn’t fulfil their pledges.

These include Nominated Senator and legal mind Karen Nyamu who promised to buy Ngesh a digital camera.

Former Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko also came into the picture for not honoring his promises to the group.

Nonetheless, they shared their gratitude for Sonko’s gesture that saw them take their maiden flights to Mombasa and back, stage a performance and receive outfits.

However, they’re still hopeful that they’ll eventually get the goodies.

Fake Promoters

Spider Clan also brought to light their encounter with rogue promoters.

They narrated one incident at the hands of DJ Arika who took them in circles after a performance.

They also noted that local promoters were shying off to work with them after seeing them with high profile politicians.
