Kenya’s opening rubber went with a loss giving Tunisia a 1-0 lead as Cynthia Wanjala struggled against Ranim Rassil to a 6-2 and 6-4 loss.

Okutoyi who anchored Kenya to victory said that she did not focus on the negative side but instead enjoyed the game which secured the wins.

“I chose not to focus a lot on us trailing our opponents and enjoyed the game. All I wanted was to play and have fun instead of worrying so much about the outcome, “said Okutoyi

She also added that she had chemistry with wanjala in the doubles thus did not struggle. Angella played like a true champion against a resilient Bechri who made her sweat for the victory.

Angella revived Kenya’s hopes of a win by taking the first set 6-3 and on the second set Bechri forced a tie breaker. However, Angella broke the tie that set the stage for a thrilling double crash
