Just A Band’s front man Blinky Bill held a sold-out listening party for his album “We Cut Keys 2” at the Westlands Mall Rooftop last night.
The 15 track album features both local and international collaborations from Ghana(Fuse ODG), USA(Rawlin), Kenya(Majimaji, Muthoni Drama Queen) among others.
Blinky Bill revealed that the new piece of work took him four years of sheer hard work and discipline to compile.
He added that he wanted to create music that brings all people from all walks of lives, race, you name it together.
And truly speaking, it was all evident with the listening party having people from all colors and backgrounds.
Blinky Bill’s album which is a fusion of traditional and modern instruments offered a mouth watering menu.
Ramogi dancers clad in traditional costumes neatly woven with Ostrich feathers opened the evening with an energetic jig setting the right mood.
When Blinky Bill finally stepped on stage the house went wild as he began doing his thing.
A jack of all trades and a master of all, Blinky had a mic in hand and selected music from the synthesizer by himself one after the other.
When the heavy applauses deafened, he reminded them that he took long to give them what they needed.
“Now you see why it took me so long…poleni sana” he said amid heavy applause.

Support From The Creative Industry
Blinky Bill further affirmed that the listening party was a success from the support of not only his fans but also pals from the creative industry.
If you tripped at the gig, the person who’d pick you up would be a celebrity.
Among notable figures present was Nameless, Madtraxx, Music Producer, Erik Musyoka, Joy Mboya(Go Down Arts Centre Executive Director and Media personalities Willis Raburu and Sheila Kwamboka among others.
Both Majimaji and Muthoni Drummer Queen joined Blinky Bill on stage when their music was introduced.
In my stolen minutes with Blinky Bill backstage, I learnt that he’s such a humble and welcoming person.
Go support the album fellas!!
