Blow To ODM As Minority Leader Vows To Support Opposing Candidate In Kibra By Election

Nairobi County Assembly Minority leader Elias Otieno has differed with his ODM party and vowed to support an opposing candidate in the Kibra by election.

A video doing rounds on social media, Otieno is heard saying that he will support ANC candidate Eliud Owalo.

Otieno says ODM did a miscalculation in giving Ken Okoth’s brother Bernard Imran Okoth the party’s ticket arguing that he is not the popular candidate.

“Owalo has done a lot for Kibra residents. He is loved in Kibra across the board by all communities. He took many to driving schools and other technical courses,” said Otieno.

He further criticised Imran for cremating his late brother as opposed to burying him as culture demands.

“Imran should first tell us where he took his brother body. What did he do to the body? because even Christianity dictates that a dead body should be burried,” said Otieno.

Otieno has further urged Owalo to intensify his campaigns to ensure that he beats Imran.

Owalo over the weekend held door to door campaigns in Kibra constituency in a bid to look for votes.

There are a total of 27 aspirants vying in the Kibra by election with IEBC clearing Jubilee Party’s candidate McDonald Mariga on Monday.
