Blow To ODM As Ongwae, Ong’era Resign

Former Kisii Governor James Ongwae has officially resigned from the Orange Democratic Movement Party.

Ongwae has resigned alongside former woman representative Janet Ong’era citing ill treatment and patronage from the party.

“We as members of the Orange Democratic Movement… have decided conscientiously to resign from the ODM Party with immediate effect,” reads the statement signed by Ongwae and Ong’era.

“We have today arrived at this decision having carefully taken stock of the activities preceding the last general elections and more so the I’ll manner in which the party treated us and our supporters through political patronage of individuals who never had the interest of our community at heart,” the statement reads.

The two have vowed to announce their next political steps in the coming days.
