The move by the government to drive up the fuel prices continues to draw attention from sector players with the latest being boda boda operators who say they cannot afford the new prices.
In an interview with Ghetto Radio News Boda Boda Safety Association of Kenya Chairman Kevin Mubadi describes the news prices as a slap in the face saying that they cannot effectively live with that.
“We are shocked by the notice of maximum wholesale and and Retail Prices in Kenya for the period of 15 March 2021 to 14th April 2021 and submit to you drastic additional changes of pump prices with no prior preparation of the consumer market,” Mubadi said.
“Even the people we carry are not that well off. If we increase fare it means we are the ones to carry the burden because customers will not use us as a mode of transport,” he added.
