Bomet Senator Christopher Langat Finally Arrested At His Embakasi Home

Bomet senator Christopher Langat has finally been arrested by police officers from his Nyayo Estate Home in Embakasi.

Langat was arrested at around 11 am by police officers who camped at his home from 3 am on Monday.

Langat was escorted to the Embakasi Police Station by a battery of police officers after he willingly gave himself to the police officers.

He has been accompanied by his lawyer Nelson Havi who is also the LSK Chairman.

Langat and his counterparts Cleophas Malala of Kakamega and Samburu Senator Steven Lelegwe of Samburu.

Meanwhile, a section of senators have called for the adjournment of senate sittings until the three senators are released.

“The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed, we cannot sit here and watch our brothers suffer in the hands of the police,” said Senator Ledama Olekina of Narok.

“As a mother and a wife, i don’t want to imagine what the wives and the children of these senators are going through, having over 40 police officers, brandishing guns outside your home” said nominated senator Millicent Omanga.
