Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, three wives and his 17 children are now poised to get ksh 1.3 Billion in compensation from Cleophas Shimanyula aka Toto in defamation suit.
The senator has issued a tough demand after Shimanyula failed honor the demand,in the demand Khalwale wanted Shimanyula to retract his statement and publish an apology
Shimanyula allegedly defamed Khalwale following the death of his worker last month.
Khalwale says that he will demand at least 200 million shillings from the businessman for allegedly defaming him .
“That following sentiments and other offending statements that you have continued to
champion and lead to their publication through social and mainstream media have been made
by you while knowing the allegations to be untrue and false,” reads the demand
Through his lawyer Danstan Omari and Shadrack Wambui, Khalwale wans Shimanyula to retract of all the alleged defamatory statements and publish an unconditional apology to scandalous statements.They argue that the unfair treatment to Khalwale can no longer be trivialized, or placed beyond remedy.
“Since the verbal Publishing of the Offending statements which you have relentlessly continue
to cause their widespread , Our Client has been the subject of spite, public odium and is now
treated with suspicion by many County and National government officials as well as
individuals and groups that previously respected and regarded him highly,’reads the letter
